I stayed at the Mitsui Garden Hotel Hakata in Fukuoka, which is located in the Hakata area. The hotel is rated four out of five stars. It is conveniently situated within a 10-minute walking distance from Hakata Station and an 8-minute walk from Gion Station.
I booked the Comfort Double Room at a cost of 433,449 Korean won for a two-night stay, including weekends. I made the reservation through Agoda and am expecting to receive a cashback of approximately 60,000 Korean won, resulting in a final price of around 370,000 Korean won. However, breakfast is not included in the room rate.
The hotel’s surroundings are quite pleasant, with Canal City and a convenience store located right in front of it.
Overall, I was very satisfied with my stay. The Comfort Double Room was spacious and more comfortable compared to the Moderate Double Room. The provided nightwear was very comfortable, and the cleanliness of the room was excellent.
One of the highlights of the hotel was the large public bath area, which included an open-air bath. Relaxing in the open-air bath while gazing at the stars was a truly memorable experience and provided the perfect opportunity to unwind after a long day.
There were a few minor downsides, such as the fact that the windows in the room could not be opened and the view from the room overlooked a cemetery. Additionally, the sound of sirens could be heard daily, possibly due to a nearby police station. These factors led me to deduct one point from my overall rating.
On a positive note, the hotel’s close proximity to Gion Station and Hakata Station, particularly the convenience of Canal City being just a 25-minute walk away, was highly appreciated. It allowed us to easily explore the Tenjin area and then enjoy the sights of Canal City before returning to the hotel. Having a 7-Eleven convenience store right across the street from the hotel also made it convenient for us to grab late-night snacks.
While there was no microwave provided in the room, it would be beneficial if one were available. Additionally, it is recommended to collect any necessary amenities from the first floor. Despite hearing that check-in could be time-consuming, when I arrived at around 3:30 PM, there was no waiting and I was able to check-in right away. Check-out could be done at a self-service machine opposite the counter.
In conclusion, I would rate the Mitsui Garden Hotel Hakata highly due to its convenient location and the enjoyable experience of the open-air bath. I am already looking forward to visiting again with my mother in the future.
